More than a thousand people have signed a petition to make Boston's famous Citgo sign a landmark.
The move comes after Boston University announced it would sell the building on which the sign sits.
Members with the Boston Preservation Alliance say they're trying to save the sign because of its importance to the city.
The petition was submitted to the city's Landmark Commission, which will decide if the legendary sign is worth the option of becoming an authentic landmark.
