Police arrested eight protesters in Sandisfield, Massachusetts after they refused to leave a restricted area at the site of a pipeline project on Saturday.
Dave Procopio, director of media relations for the Massachusetts State Police, said that the arrests were made without incident.
The eight demonstrators were part of a larger group who were at the Kinder Morgan pipeline extension site whom police approached for trespassing.
The pipeline project aims to add four miles of natural gas pipeline to connect two lines that already exist.
The arrested demonstrators were brought to Berkshire House of Correction.
