Police: 15-Year-Old Girl Threatened to “Pull a Columbine” at High School

The Nashoba Valley Regional student is facing two felony charges

A 15-year-old girl from Bolton, Massachusetts, has been arrested for threatening to carry out an violent attack at Nashoba Regional High School. She's facing two felony charges.

“If you put something out on social media, and it’s a threat to commit a crime, you need to be held accountable for that," said Bolton Police Chief Vincent Alfano.

Police say the teen used the social media app called Whisper to post the threat that read: “gonna pull a Columbine on this expletive of a school before I graduate. Expletive hate every single one of you expletive faces.”

The threat comes just as the school prepares for graduation.

“I think it’s pretty crazy. We’ve learned a lot about Columbine,” said Nashoba senior Kelly Poole.

Police say they got a tip from someone in Worcester who saw the post. That person then saught help from Whisper and Massachusetts State Police.

“Our officers were able to decipher the coding of a Bolton address,” said Alfano.

Investigators say the girl admitted to making the threat.

“She really didn’t have a good explanation. She stated she was angry with some kids at school,” said Alfano.

Police aren’t sure what her exact intentions were.

“You can only speculate, but there was a firearm registered legally until we prove otherwise,” added Alfano.

“It’s really scary in such a small town like this. We’re just nervous and we just hope it was an idle threat,” said Bolton parent Karen Augustine.

For now, the student has been suspended. She could be expelled and also do jail time if convicted of the felonies.

Police aren't releasing the girl's name at this time.
