4-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Pool

A 4-year-old boy has drowned in a swimming pool in Norwood, Massachusetts, police confirm.

The child, who is not from Norwood, was visiting his aunt's home. He was only alone for a few minutes. Police say he wandered into the back yard and fell into the water.

Family members and a neighbor were performing CPR on the boy when crews arrived. Responders then began performing CPR.

"Once I realized what was going on, I did whatever I could to assist," said a neighbor, Tom Brady.

Emergency crews transported the boy to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.

Brady says his heart breaks for the family.

"It's an unfortunate situation that took place, and obviously, we're all suffering from it," he said. "They're a fantastic family."

The child was transported to Norwood Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Foul play is not suspected, but police and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office are investigating the boy's death.

The boy's parents were not at the home at the time of the incident, but police say they have been notified.
