Police: 5th DUI Suspect Crashes Into Cruiser

Joseph Coleman had his 14-year-old daughter and his dog in the car

Police in Marlborough, Massachusetts, say a man accused of hitting a police cruiser with his SUV was under the influence of alcohol and will be facing his fifth DUI charge.

Police say the officer's cruiser was hit on the driver's side as he was driving down Bolton Street Monday night. The crash caused the two vehicles to crash through a fence and hit a parked car.

The officer, who was not seriously hurt, was transported to a hospital and released shortly afterward.

The suspect, 55-year-old Joseph Coleman, also had his 14-year-old daughter and his dog in the car. They were all uninjured.

Coleman is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and child endangerment. He was expected to be arraigned on Tuesday.
