Boston police have arrested three juvenile males suspected of committing a series of armed robberies in the city's Roxbury neighborhood.

Police made the arrest around 3 p.m. on Wednesday after a week of armed robberies with the same suspect descriptions. The victims in all of the incidents were robbed at knifepoint in the area of Columbia Road and Ceylon Street.

Following an investigation, police arrested the three suspects and recovered a knife from one of them.

Officers arrested an 11-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy, and a 16-year-old boy, all from Dorchester, and charged them with delinquent to wit; armed robbery (knife). The 16-year-old was also charged with delinquent to wit; unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon (knife). The suspect's names have not been released.

"An 11-year-old - it’s sad," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said. "We're disturbed when we see kids this young committing crimes, but hopefully this is a wake-up call for the kids, their families, the community, and for us as a police department.

"Now we can work together, get in touch with these kids, provide them with services, and try to get them on the right track."

All three boys were arraigned on Thursday in Boston Juvenile Court. It was not immediately clear if they have attorneys.
