Police in Andover, Massachusetts Arrest Two People in Drug Deal Worth $15,000

Police say 350 grams of heroin was found in man's vehicle

Two people are facing charges after police say they witnessed a drug deal worth $15,000 on Saturday morning in Andover, Massachusetts.

Police said detectives were conducting surveillance in the area of Campanelli Road at 11:30 a.m. when they allegedly witnessed a Lawrence, Massachusetts, man conducting a drug transaction with a woman from Nashua, New Hampshire.

After approaching the man's Mercedes SUV, detectives allegedly saw bags of heroin in the man's possession. Police said a further search of the vehicle found additional heroin inside the SUV.

Authorities said detectives seized a total of 350 grams of heroin from the vehicle.

Police arrested Jose Morales, 27, and Christine Soukaras, 30.

Morales was charged with trafficking class A substance and is being held on $50,000 bail pending his arraignment in Lawrence District Court.

Soukaras was charged with possession of class A substance. It's unclear when she will be arraigned.
