2 Shot, 2 Arrested After Victims Run Suspect Over

Two suspects are in custody after allegedly shooting at two people in a car Friday night in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Police say the suspects opened fire on the car around 10 p.m. near Thorndike Field. The glass was blown out of the windows on the passenger side. One of the victims was shot in the face. The other was hit in the abdomen.

The male victims drove about half a mile to the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Lake Street, where police found them. They were taken to area hospitals.

The driver struck one of the alleged shooters while driving away. That suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to a Boston hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Stephen Meyer, 60, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and armed assault with intent to murder. He also had multiple felony warrants for his arrest.

Later, the other suspect, later identified as 37-year-old Peter Harris, was arrested by Cambridge Police on a bike path near the Alewife MBTA station. He was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault with intent to murder, and firearms offenses.
