Police Charge 3 in Shooting That Injured Man, Damaged Houses and Cars

Hartford police have arrest warrants for three people suspected in a shooting in May that injured one man and damaged houses and cars early on the morning of Tuesday, May 12. One of the suspects is still at large.

Kenneth Jewell, 24, of Hartford, Carlton Forbes, 22, of Hartford, and Shawn Robinson, 24, of East Hartford, are facing multiple charges including assault with a firearm. Police have not yet apprehended Forbes and said he should both be considered armed and dangerous because the weapons involved have not been recovered. Hartford police were initiatly trying to locate Robinson, but Hartford Police Department shooting taskforce detectives arrested Saturday morning and have him in custody.

Police received reports of several gunshots coming from the rear of the Ranch House at 3281 Main Street around 12:30 a.m. that morning and encountered a chaotic scene.

A 24-year-old man suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the head and four vehicles, a house and the back of 3281 Main Street were damaged by gunfire.

Investigators found 29 shell casings from three different caliber guns, as well as other ballistic evidence, and determined that three shooters were involved.

Police obtained arrests warrants on June 1.

Jewell was charged with first-degree assault with a firearm, conspiracy assault in the first degree, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment. Police took him into custody on June 5.

Forbes was charged with first-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree conspiracy assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Robinson was charged with first-degree assault with a firearm, first-degree conspiracy assault, carrying a pistol without a permit, unlawful discharge of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment.

The search for Forbes is ongoing, police said.

Bond for each was set at $750,000 each.
