Police: Driver Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries After Car Crash Into Pole

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after crashing his vehicle into a pole in Carver, Massachusetts, on Monday.

Police said it happened just before 4 p.m. on Tremont Street.

The crash involved only one vehicle, which only had the 36-year-old driver inside.

State police said the driver, a Plymouth resident, was trapped inside and had to extricated. He was transported to Tobey Hospital and then taken by medical helicopter to a Boston hospital.

Authorities believe the driver may have suffered some type of medical condition before the crash.

Carver Police and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis Team are working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
