Police: Elderly Man Tied up by Men Looking for Gold

Police in Massachusetts say a 71-year-old man was hospitalized after three masked men who were apparently looking for gold entered his home, used a stun gun on him and tied him up with his suspenders.

The Enterprise reports that police responded to the Brockton home around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a home invasion.

Police say Michael Acciavatti told officers the men jumped him, threw him to the ground and used a stun gun on him multiple times. They tied his hands behind his back with his suspenders and kept asking him where the gold was.

Police say the men stole a box of old coins. Acciavatti passed out and called 911 five hours later when he woke up.

Police hadn't located any suspects as of Thursday.
