An inmate who escaped from a work detail at the state prison in Cranston has been spotted on a security video from a Providence convenience store.

State Police Lt. Mark Farnum tells The Providence Journal that 25-year-old Keurys Pena, who also goes by the name Michael Santana, was seen on the video from Monday afternoon a store in the Elmwood Avenue area of South Providence.

Pena was reported missing from the state prison at 12:50 p.m. Monday.
