Police: Felon Arrested After Shooting at Rat

Maine State Police arrested a convicted felon on Monday.

A convicted felon was arrested by Maine State Police on Friday after allegedly attempting to shoot a rat.

On Monday, police responded to the residence of Guy Schultz, 43, after he fired his gun close to his neighbor's property. Schultz told police that he was shooting at a rat outside his Leeds home.

Troopers learned on scene that Schultz was convicted on a felony burglary charge in 1991 and is prohibited from owning firearms. An arsenal of handguns, rifles, shotguns, and silencers were found inside his home.

Schultz was transported to the Androscoggin County Jail.
