Police are investigating new allegations against a high school principal in Waterville, Maine, who had already been accused of asking a student for sex, necn affiliate WCSH reports.
Don Reiter, the principal of Waterville High School, is being investigated by the school board for a senior's claim that he propositioned her. Officials deliberated for hours Wednesday to decide whether Reiter would lose his job, but they opted to meet again Monday.
The new hearing from the school board was scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, but officials now tell WCSH a private hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Waterville Police say students from a New Hampshire school have come forward with new allegations against Reiter. Chief Joseph Massey tells WCSH that a former student of Mascenic Regional High School, where Waterville High School's website says he served as assistant principal, contacted the department Thursday.
A lawyer for Waterville Superintendent Eric Haley says Reiter told the girl he picks a student to have sex with every year, and that this year, he chose her.
