Investigation Underway After Woman's Body Discovered on Revere Beach

State and local police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found on Revere Beach in Massachusetts early Thursday morning.

Troopers responded to the beach along Revere Beach Parkway — at Shirley Avenue — just before 5 a.m. after a woman on a walk discovered the body, according to State Police Spokesperson Dave Procopio.

Authorities said after removing the woman's body from the scene, it appears that she does not have any obvious or immediate signs of trauma.

An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The woman has been tentatively identified by state police investigators but her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Some area residents said they are not shocked by the discovery.

"Shocked, no. Surprised, yeah," said Frank Seaver of Revere.

"You could put a zillion cops down here and something's still going to happen. It's just how it is," said another Revere resident, Jimmy Griffin.
