Police Arrest 1 in Connection to Fatal Stabbing

Vermont State Police have arrested one suspect in connection to a fatal stabbing.

Police were dispatched to the Shady Pine trailer park Saturday night. There they discovered an unresponsive victim, 37-year-old Michael Johnson, of Bellows Falls.

Johnson was stabbed multiple times before succumbing to his injuries inside a mobile home, police say. Lonnie Place, 38, was arrested and charged with manslaughter. Place admitted to stabbing Johnson at his residence.

Two other people who were present at the residence locked themselves inside a vehicle following the incident and then refused to exit when asked by troopers.

Police arrested Christina and Michael Allock for interfering with their investigation. Christina attempted to light a trooper's jacket on fire after she was pulled from the vehicle. She then punched the trooper in the face.

Christina was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer. She was later released. Michael was charged after refusing to obey an officer's orders. He was also released.

Place was held on no bail. He'll be arraigned in Windham District Court on Monday.
