Police Investigate Stabbing as Family, Friends Mourn Victim

Twenty-nine-year-old barber Sean Dwyer was stabbed to death Friday evening in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

Matthew Albert is trying to cope with knowing he lost his best friend Friday night.

Twenty-nine-year old Sean Dwyer was stabbed to death and found on Adams Street in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood.

"I said a prayer for him because I'm still in shock and wanted to cry," said Albert.

Albert says he was able to spend time with Dwyer before his death.

"I asked him what he was doing last night, he said he didn't know, he was going to close up and give me a call," said Albert. "He called me 5:48 last night, he died at 6:15."

Boston Police say Dwyer was discovered by an MBTA bus driver, 50 feet away from his Dorchester barbershop. His unisex salon opened in June.

"I didn't even know it was him out here the whole time," said Renada Huggins, who had to tell her son his barber was killed. "I'm in my house cooking, cleaning, everything, and my friend is out here dying. That, I can't escape ... The fact that he was steps away from me is really scary."

Albert says he owes his sobriety to Dwyer. Thoughtful acts like that is why he doesn't understand why someone would murder his friend.

"He would do anything for anybody - never turn you down. If you were down and out, he'd try and help you," said Albert. "I'm gonna miss him, he was my best friend."

People continue to drop off flowers as a memorial for Dwyer.

Boston Police continue to investigate. No one has been arrested. Anyone with information is asked to call the the department's homicide unit at (617) 343-4470.
