Police Investigate Triple Shooting in New Britain

Police are investigating a triple shooting in New Britain.

Officers, firefighters and EMS were dispatched to Chestnut Street and Columbus Boulevard at 3:26 a.m. on Sunday after receiving a report that a man was shot, police said.

Investigators found a male gunshot victim in a car and determined he hadn't been shot in the vehicle or at the area they located him, police said.

An ambulance transported the man to an area hospital to be medically evaluated in the emergency room and be treated for a non-life-threatening injury, police said.

While police were at Chestnut Street and Columbus Boulevard, they learned that two more gunshot victims arrived at the hospital in a private car to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police learned that all three people were shot at 475 John Downey Drive. The relationship between the three victims is unknown and no suspect has been identified at this time.

New Britain police criminal investigation division detectives are processing the scene. Investigators are not publicly releasing the names of the victims at this time.

The New Britain State's Attorney's Office is also helping with the investigation.
