Police Investigating After Wareham, Massachusetts, Man Found Shot to Death in Home

The death is considered suspicious

Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 70-year-old Wareham, Massachusetts, man who was found shot to death in his home on Tuesday.

Wareham Police received a request for a well-being check at 120 Glenn Charley Road around noon on Tuesday, according to the Plymouth District Attorney's Office. When police arrived, they found an unresponsive male in the home, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. 

The victim has been identified as John Williams. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact manner and cause of death.

Williams worked for the last couple of years at the Salvation Army Family Store, where the staff says he was a valuable employee.  He was also a member of the Brockton Flying Club, the president of the Genesis Amateur Radio Society, and a regular at the local YMCA.

Massachusetts State Police assigned to the district attorney's office are investigating.

Investigators are not releasing any details into a possible motive but say there does not appear to be any threat to the public.
