Arrest Made in Stabbing of 34-Year-Old Woman

A woman was hospitalized after being stabbed in the stomach

A 32-year-old Rhode Island woman is accused of stabbing a woman outside of an apartment in Woonsocket.

Police say Carissa Chatlien, 32, of East Providence was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Chatlien had been verbally fighting with the 34-year-old victim Wednesday afternoon in a second floor apartment on West School Street, and pushed her out of the apartment, according to police.

After the victim came back to the apartment to get her belongings, Chatlien allegedly told her she was taking too long and stabbed the victim in the stomach.

The victim was taken to Rhode Island Hospital where she's in stable condition.

Chatlien will be arraigned Thursday in 6th District Court. It's not clear if she has an attorney.
