Police say Matthew Anderson (left) hit David Bell with a Maglite and Bell hit Anderson with an angle grinder after a crash in Candia, New Hampshire.

Two men were arrested for their roles in a road rage fight Monday afternoon in Candia, New Hampshire, police said.

Forty-year-old Matthew Anderson of Manchester and 60-year-old David Bell of Jaffrey were driving on Route 101 westbound when police say they were involved in a road rage incident, with each man trying to get the other to pull over.

According to police, Bell started to pass Anderson in his Chevy S-10, then suddenly changed lanes in front of Anderson's Ford Flex, hitting him as they were both moving into the breakdown lane.

Police say Anderson got out of the car with a Maglite and hit Bell in the head and groin. They fought for some time and then separated, but then police say Bell went to his vehicle, got an angle grinder and hit Anderson in the head and abdomen.

Anderson's head was cut. He was taken to Elliot Hospital, where treated and released. Bell suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.

Both suspects are charged with second degree assault, reckless conduct and disorderly conduct, but may face other charges.

The men are due in court on Aug. 12.
