A Maine woman has been charged with theft after authorities asked for the public's help in finding the person who had stolen Christmas wreaths from a cemetery.

Fifty-six-year-old Pamela Golarz of 29 Staples St. in Old Orchard Beach was charged with three misdemeanors, including theft and falsifying physical evidence.

Police in Saco asked for help after 15 wreaths, valued at $800 total, were stolen from the Laurel Hill Cemetery in late November and early December. A family member helped police by giving them surveillance video from a hidden camera, which showed a woman in a black Ford Explorer pull up to the grave site, walk over, pause and then take the holiday arraignment before getting back into the SUV.

Saco Police say that thanks to tips from the public, they identified Golarz as a person of interest, and executed several search warrants on Dec. 8 and Dec. 10 at three different locations, where they recovered Christmas wreaths.

Golarz turned herself into the police department and posted her $150 cash bail. Her arraignment is set for Jan. 28 at the Biddeford District Court.
