Police: Man Threatened to Shoot Gun at Restaurant

An altercation at a Hyannis, Massachusetts, restaurant resulted in the arrest of a gun-yielding man early Sunday morning.

An altercation at a Hyannis, Massachusetts, restaurant resulted in the arrest of a gun-yielding man early Sunday morning, police say.

Around 12:45 a.m., Barnstable Police responded to reports of an incident in the bar area of Embargo on Main Street in Hyannis. Investigation yielded Christopher Desimone, 44, of West Yarmouth, was involved in an altercation and allegedly pointed a pistol at a female not known to him. When security personnel escorted him outside, he allegedly drew the pistol again and threatened to assassinate one of the officers.

Police officers responded immediately and directed Desimone to the patio area. Officer Keith Sexton quickly detained the him and recovered a loaded pistol from his waist band.

Desimone was arrested and charged with two counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm while under the influence of alcohol, and commission of a felony while armed. He is being held on $1,000 bail and will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Monday.
