Police in Portland, Maine, are advising people in the Bayside neighborhood to be on alert after a man broke into a house and sexually assaulted a young girl.
According to police, the burglary and assault happened at 3 a.m. last Sunday. When an adult living in the home went into the girl's room, they say, the man fled.
Investigators say they are now looking for 25-year-old Julian Soto as a person of interest in the case. He lives in the neighborhood and police want to ask him some questions.
At this point, they are not calling him a suspect.
Police have told neighbors to keep their doors and windows locked as a precaution, but they also believe this was likely an isolated incident.
