    A man was rescued from the Merrimack River in Massachusetts on Wednesday after his kayak overturned. (Published Wednesday, June 29, 2016)

    A man was rescued from the Merrimack River in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on Wednesday after his kayak overturned.

    The victim, a 50-year-old Lawrence man, was pulled from the river on Eaton Street around 12:30 p.m. after he fell out of the kayak.

    Andover police, who helped rescue the man, say he has been given CPR and was taken to a Boston hospital.

    His condition is unknown at this time.

    The incident remains under investigation.
