Police: Mom, Baby Escape Serious Injuries After Car Flips Over

A mother and her 7-month-old baby escaped serious harm after their car flipped over while driving on I-295 in Maine Thursday, state police said.

According to authorities, 30-year-old Danielle Niles of Yarmouth lost control of her car in South Portland when she reached over to turn on the car's heater, with the car coming to rest on its roof in the snow.

Maine State Police say Niles and her baby, who was in a car seat, were taken to Maine Medical Center for observation.
