Police: New Jersey Couple Imported Crack Cocaine, Cocaine, Pills Into Maine

Maine DEA says undercover agents purchased drugs from the couple during the agency's investigation

A New Jersey man and woman face a slew of drug trafficking charges in Maine after an undercover operation resulted in their arrest on Wednesday.

Forty-three-year-old Otis Tosen was charged with six counts of drug trafficking, while 47-year-old Kimberley Maldonado was charged with three counts of drug trafficking. Both are from Passaic, New Jersey.

Maine DEA agents say Tosen and Maldonado were suspected of trafficking drugs into the Augusta area, and made undercover purchases of cocaine, crack cocaine and Oxycodone during their investigation.

Tosen and Maldonado were arrested outside of the Augusta motel they were staying at, where agents say they found $5,200 in cash, 50 grams of crack cocaine, 150 grams of cocaine and 620 Oxycodone pills. The estimated value of the drugs on the street is over $36,000, according to Maine DEA.

Authorities also say Tosen and Maldonado have outstanding warrants.

Augusta Police assisted with the investigation, which authorities say is ongoing.
