A Warwick, Rhode Island, police officer helped evacuate a family from a home while a fire burned in its garage early Thursday morning.
Fire crews responded to the fire on Narragansett Parkway around 12:30 a.m.
The officer, who was driving by, noticed the fire in the garage and helped the family out.
The two adults and two children who resided in the home have been displaced.
One firefighter suffered a minor injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
