    Police: Pennsylvania Man Turns Self in After Drive-by Shooting in Rutland, Vermont

    Michael Filinuk of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged in a drive-by shooting that injured a woman leaving Petco in Rutland, Vermont.

    A Pennsylvania man turned himself in after a drive-by shooting in Rutland, Vermont, police said.

    According to Vermont State Police, a 45-year-old Rutland woman was shot in the arm when she was leaving the Petco at the Green Mountain Shopping Plaza Saturday night.

    The woman, who police say was shot by a passing motorist, went into Radio Shack for help. She was taken to Rutland Medical Center and treated for a laceration to her right arm.

    The shooting happened around 8:19 p.m., according to police. Minutes later, at 8:26, 33-year-old Michael Filinuk III of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, went to the Rutland City Police Department and turned himself in.

    Police seized Filinuk's Audi SUV, registered in Pennsylvania, and arrested him on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

    Based on a preliminary investigation, police say Filinuk and the victim do not know each other. The motive for the shooting is not known.

    Filinuk is due to be arraigned Monday at Rutland superior Court.
