Police: Man With GPS Bracelet Accused of Indecent Assault

A Massachusetts man accused of indecent assault and battery was arrested Tuesday while wearing a GPS bracelet in connection to a prior indecent assault conviction, according to MBTA Transit Police.

On May 16, a female victim told transit police a man had approached her and asked her inappropriate question as she was walking to her vehicle at the parking garage of the Braintree MBTA stop. Shortly after, police say the man indecently assaulted her and fled.

One week later, transit police arrested 21-year-old Cody Chery of Randolph at the Downtown Crossing MBTA stop. At the time, he was wearing a court-ordered GPS monitoring bracelet.

While they did not give any information about the earlier case, transit police say Chery was wearing the bracelet in connection to a prior conviction of indecent assault and battery.

Chery was booked at the transit police headquarters. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
