Police Release New Photos of Maine Fugitive's “Distinctive” Tattoos

Robert Burton is wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend on June 5

Maine State Police have released new images of fugitive Robert Burton and some of his more distinctive tattoos.

Burton, 38, of Parkman, has been on the run for over a month. He is wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend, 37-year-old Stephanie Gebo, who was found dead in her home on June 5. He is considered armed and dangerous.

The most recent confirmed sighting of Burton came around noon on July 6 at a camp on Point Road in Guilford. A camp owner reported that he spotted Burton on his property. Burton then ran to a nearby pond and stole a canoe or kayak. A photo of Burton was captured by a nearby home video surveillance system.

Also released on Friday were photos of two "very noticeable" tattoos on the back of Burton's hands. One shows a shamrock/clover on his left hand, and the other shows the word "Outlaw" on his right hand.

State police urge area camp owners to be aware and to call police if they find anything out of place or unusual. They are also asked to account for all watercraft and to immediately report anything that is missing.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or state police in Bangor at 207-973-3700.
