Man Stabbed to Death in Brockton, Massachusetts; Woman Being Questioned

The stabbing occurred on Friday afternoon

A man was stabbed to death Friday afternoon in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Just after 1 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at 65 Maguire Road, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office. Inside, they found a male victim dead.

A woman at the house was taken into custody for questioning.

"She's always been knocking on doors around the neighborhood," said neighbor Zach Clifford. "She's had her problems. She's very nice though, honestly, she's a very nice lady. She used to give us popsicles playing outside."

Several neighbors say about a month ago, the woman was trying to get into people's homes on the street.

Tianna Tessier says she found her inside her doorway.

"Asking me if I could bring her to the liquor store," said Tessier. "Slurring her words. I told her, 'You need to get out of my house, I'm going to put my hands on you if you don't get out of my house."

Joseph Lussier says the woman tried to get into his aunt's house that day.

"She told her, 'No, we're not taking you to the store," said Lussier. "Then she tried to ask more people for rides, and that's when the cops were called."

Police have released few details about Friday's incident, except that a man died of an apparent stab wound.

Hours after the crime, investigators were still on the property taking pictures inside the home.

Two pets were removed, as well.

A pick-up truck with J&S Pool Service marked on the vehicle was in the driveway, and the company's address matches up with the house, but it's unclear if anyone connected with the business is involved in any way with the stabbing.

"It's kind of scary," said neighbor Audra Bardsley. "Only thing, it is not random, so that makes it a little bit easier."

Police have not released the victim's name or any motive for the crime.

The incident remains under investigation.
