Teen Rescued After Falling Down Quarry

A teenage boy has been rescued after falling down a rock quarry Thursday in Southwick, Massachusetts.

Agawam Fire Chief Allen Sirois told necn affiliate WWLP the teen fell from a cliff face near the Agawam/Southwick town line around 3:30 p.m.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to get him out of the woods and to the street.

The teen was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and is in serious condition. There was no immediate word on the extent of his injuries.
