Police Investigate Attempted Home Invasion in RI

Police said two masked people tried to get into a home and one of them fired a shotgun as a warning shot during a scuffle

Police responded to a community in Warwick, Rhode Island, Thursday night after an attempted home invasion.

According to necn affiliate WJAR, police responded to Warwick Avenue around 10 p.m. after reports of shots fired.

Police said two masked people tried to get into a home and one of them fired a shotgun as a warning shot during a scuffle.

Prior to that, police said two women went to the home and asked to come inside to use a phone. The homeowner did not let them in but let them use a phone outside.

There were no injuries and the suspects never made it inside the home.

Police are tracing the phone.
