Body of Missing Wallingford Man Found

Police have found the body of a 20-year-old Wallingford man who was reported missing on Thursday night.

Friends of Santiago Chuchoque called police just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday to report him missing.

They said Chuchoque was at the Tyler Mill Preserve and a friend became concerned when he did not meet back up.

The last time Chuchoque was seen alive was at 2:30 p.m. and he never responded to phone calls from the friend who was trying to reach him, police said.

Police said Chuchoque was reportedly depressed and suicidal.

Officers who responded to the scene found his gray 2011 BMW 328xi, unoccupied and locked, in the parking lot at the preserve, police said.

Wallingford police, firefighters and State Police K9s searched the area, which includes recreational trails used by hikers and mountain bikers, and said on Friday morning they found his body at the preserve.
