Police: Sex Offender Attacked Woman in Burlington, Vermont

A registered sex offender is back in custody after police say he attacked a woman who was walking down the street in Burlington, Vermont.

James Lee Bristol tried to grab the woman around 2:30 a.m. on June 3, according to the Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations.

When the woman resisted, authorities say Bristol hit her in the face and took off.

The suspect was arraigned Friday on simple assault and unlawful restraint charges.
