Police: Suspect Shot, Killed After Opening Fire at Officers

A suspect in a domestic disturbance was shot and killed after firing at police in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, according to police.

A suspect in a domestic disturbance was shot and killed after firing at police in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, according to police.

Police responded to Ledgewood Blvd. Thursday evening at 11:03 for a report of a domestic disturbance.

Police learned upon arrival that the suspect fled in a vehicle before officers arrived.

The suspect returned to the scene while police were investigating, and while officers attempted to apprehend him, the suspect shot at them.

Police returned fire and struck the suspect.

He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford and pronounced dead as a result of his wounds.

The suspect name and the officers involved are not being released as the investigation is ongoing.
