Police say speed and alcohol are likely to blame after a Maine teen crashed his car into a utility pole and flipped it several times.
According to officials, the 16-year-old boy lost control of the car on High Street in West Gardiner. When he struck the pole, police say, it broke at the base.
The car then flipped multiple times before it landed on its wheels, according to police.
The engine was torn from the frame of the car.
The boy only suffered minor injuries, but police noted that he is lucky to be alive. Shortly before the crash, he dropped off a friend.
Police are not releasing the name of the driver. He is expected to face charges.
