Police: Three People in Hospital With Serious Injuries After Rollover Crash in RI

The crash remains under investigation

State police say a rollover crash in Cranston has sent three people to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say a sedan carrying 19-year-old Destiny Cotto, 18-year-old Ian Willard, both of North Providence, and 19-year-old Meghan Kennedy crashed just before 2 a.m. Thursday on Route 10.

Capt. Dennis Fleming says the car crossed three lanes and hit the Pontiac Avenue embankment, rolling over several times and landing on its roof.

Cotto, a passenger, was ejected and pinned under the vehicle. She was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with injuries considered life-threatening.

Police say Kennedy, of Warwick, was the driver. She was hospitalized with Willard with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police say Willard was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
