Seven women are behind bars following a prostitution sting Thursday night in Brockton, Massachusetts.
Jodie Block, 46, Elizabeth Gagnon, 30, Emily Bennett, 41, Kimberly Silva, 29, Bianca Mcdonald, 27, Erika Comeau, 33, and Kim Headly, 43 - all of Brockton - are charged with sexual conduct for a fee. No court or bail information was released by police.
They were arrested as part of "Operation Street Sweeper," which targets quality of life crimes like prostitution and street-level drug dealing.
Massachusetts State Police and a web task force including officers from Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, East Bridgewater and Whitman assisted Brockton Police.
"We will arrest you if you try to engate in sex for money on our city streets," Brockton Police Chief John Crowley said.
The operation was ordered by Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter as a means of cleaning up the area around North Main and Spring streets in particular.
