17-Year-Old Boy Dies in Milford Drowning

A 17-year-old boy has died after he was pulled from the water in a local pond on Saturday.

The teenager was reported deceased by UMass Medical Center in Worcester on Sunday evening, after he had initially been listed in critical condition.

A spokesman from the Milford police department said that there had been a "tragic incident" at North Pond Saturday afternoon and that the department is fully investigating what appears to be an accidental incident.

The boy was brought to the surface by bystanders and residents in the area on watercraft. The first responders administered CPR, police said.

The victim's name has not been released. The victim was initially rushed to Milford Regional Medical Center before being flown to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
