A pony and two horses are dead after a Jeep hit them in Chaplin on Wednesday night.
State Police said the three animals were "running in the wild" on Route 198 north of Chaplin Street just after 10 p.m. when they were hit.
The driver of the Jeep Wrangler, a 53-year-old Pomfret man, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
