Pro Golfer's RI Home Sells for $4.9M

The waterfront home was listed for nearly $8M in 2009

The Barrington home of professional golfer Brad Faxon was recently sold for more than $4.5 million.

The Providence Journal reports that town records indicate that the waterfront home was listed for nearly $8 million in 2009. The home was later taken off the market for several years before being re-listed in 2013 for $4.95 million.

The 15-room home built in 2005 has seven bedrooms and nine full bathrooms.

Town records indicate the buyer was David Goulden, chief executive of EMC Information Infrastructure.

The 51-year-old Faxon is a native of Barrington who's been on the PGA Tour for 29 years. He has eight PGA Tour wins, has been on two Ryder Cup teams and in 1993 won the Australian Open.
