Professor Invites Teen Arrested for Clock to MIT

A Texas teen that was arrested for bringing his science project to school has been invited to tour the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus, according to masslive.com.

14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed says he was trying to show off his technology skills by bringing a homemade clock to school. When the clock started working and making noise, it was confused for a hoax bomb and school officials contacted police. Mohamed was searched, arrested and questioned before the charges were ultimately dropped.

After hearing Mohamed's story and that he is interested in pursuing engineering in college, Professor Chanda Prescod-Weinstein at MIT invited him to tour the Cambridge campus.

Mohamed has received support from powerful people across the nation, including through a tweet from President Obama.
