The Augusta, Maine, Police Department say they have issued a summons in the alleged dog kicking case.
Michael Hein, 45, of Augusta, was issued a summons charging him with animal cruelty after allegedly kicking a puppy.
AmyLou Craig, the owner of a four-month-old golden-retriever puppy named Brewer, told police that Hein approached her, and after exchanging words, kicked Brewer.
Hein was summonsed on Friday and has a pending arraignment date.
