Rain Making a Dreary Comeback

The forecast is looking a little sad for the first full week of June. Our average high temperature is now in the low 70s. High temperatures between Monday and Wednesday will only climb into the 50s.

We will have cloudy skies, showers and a wind off the ocean. Don’t be concerned about a frost or freeze. Because of the wind and clouds, temperatures will be nearly steady for the 72 hour window.

We aren’t expecting a flooding rain, but three day totals could be rather significant. If I had to commit to a rainfall total range, I’d say 1- 2.5” is likely between Monday and Wednesday. Since the air will be generally stable we aren’t expecting any thunderstorms, most of the rain will be light.

If you feel like it’s been damp over the last couple of months, you’d be correct! 60% of the days since April 1st, Boston has recorded at least a trace of rain.

We should (fingers crossed) be changing this pattern in the next 10 days to two weeks. Drier, warmer air should be returning. 80° is within reach by the end of the 10 day forecast period. Boston’s last 80°+ day was May 19th!
