Red Flag Warning for Parts of New England

Critical fire weather conditions are occurring now, or will be shortly

You would think that after record-breaking snow in New England this past winter, the ground would currently have plenty of moisture.

However, parts of Vermont, New Hampshire & Maine are classified as "abnormally dry" in the U.S. Drought Monitor.

The dry conditions today along with warm temperatures, low dewpoints & the wind picking up from the south-southwest this afternoon will produce an elevated fire danger to some parts of New England.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect through 8pm for Worcester county points west in Massachusetts, all of Vermont & most of New Hampshire & Maine.

Temps will top out in the upper 70s to low 80s for most. Southwest wind gusts through the evening will range between 15-25 mph.
