Rehoboth, Massachusetts, Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Teen Boy

Authorities say 34-year-old Daniel Ferreira lured the 15 year old into a wooded area

A man has been charged for raping a 15-year-old boy after luring him into a wooded area in Rehoboth, Massachusetts, police said Thursday.

Bail for 34-four-year-old Daniel Ferreira of Rehoboth was set at more than $100,000 Thursday after he was charged with rape of a child under 16 and enticement of a child under 16 in Taunton District Court.

According to police, the teen victim spoke to an officer Thursday after revealing he had been sexually assaulted the night before while walking on Providence Street around 6 p.m.

The teen was walking when an unknown man approached him in a blue sedan, police said, and was attacked when the man lured him into a wooded area off Providence Street.

Ferreira was arrested after 2 p.m. Thursday. He was unable to post bail and was transferred to the Bristol County House of Corrections in New Bedford. His arraignment is Sept. 19.
