A man who allegedly strangled a dog has been charged with cruelty to a cat, Seacoast Online reports.

Roger Pelletier, 50, was charged at the Rockingham County Jail in New Hampshire with animal cruelty Sunday afternoon. His cat was seized in Nov. after Pelletier said at an earlier arraignment that he has "a cat that needs to be fed."

Police in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, previously charged Pelletier with burgalry, animal cruelty, and simple assault when he allegedly tried to kill his neighbor's dog because it wouldn't stop barking.

Pelletier is held on $5,000 cash bail and $2,500 personal recognizance bail.
