The head of Massachusetts' transportation department is reportedly suggesting the possibility of privatizing the MBTA's fleet of buses.
The Boston Herald reports MassDOT's Stephanie Pollack said the private sector would be better at running the Greater Boston area's bus service than the MBTA "right now."
Her comments come on the heels of a report by a global consulting firm the MBTA hired in September to review the transit system's costs and other issues.
